Large Flat White, Strong, Extra Hot

Coffee is becoming so popular these days it’s almost a rarity to not have to take a breath half way through someone’s order.

Long black, half full, at the temperature of my forehead with two equals, my body can only take so much sugar. Cappuccino, extra froth minus the lactose with a drizzle of organic non-slavery hazel syrup and a single shake of chia. Half no-fat, one quarter skim, one quarter soy latte with origin grown beans, no hotter than 62.5 degrees… please. Is it me or are these coffee orders becoming less and less ridiculous and more and more the norm? As someone who enjoys a good serving of caffeine, coffee is coffee, hot, cold, luke-warm or other. It’s all good. Continue reading

The American Dream

They say better late than never hey? Well I know this is pretty late but hey at least it’s here now…

So it’s been a long time  between posts here. Sorry bout that all, let’s just say I’ve been living my life, checking in on Facebook and making sure my Instagram was letting everyone at home know I’m having a better time than they are. I think it’s been months now against my normal weekly-ish posts. A lot has happened so I’m going to try and get it all out, or at least as much of it as I can in this one post. There will be more to come soon, I promise and I’ll try not to be as slack. Continue reading

Born in the USA

Sadly not a national but via the magic of a VISA and US immigration I am a part national for the next 7 months baby.

After a belated break from blogging, the interruptions of work, organising this trip which is going to dominate this space for the next 7 months, along with my other random thoughts and messages, catch ups, coffees, dinners, lunches and breakfasts with friends and a few going away parties into the mix has led to this boy being very busy. But now I am work free, uni free for the next couple of weeks, let the adventures, travel and experiences happen. Continue reading

The Seesaw – Part 2

I want to begin with an apology. I am sorry it has taken me this long to get myself in a place to write my post. I would like to give a quote that I heard the other day that will always stay with me.

“This is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.”  – Winston Churchill

I had given many reasons why I went to Australia. They all aren’t actually wholly factual. Of course, each excuse I gave had validity, but to be honest it was to get away from someone.  To keep his integrity I wont say whom, but I’m sure anyone who knows me well enough will know who it is. I needed to remove myself from a situation that I felt would end in disaster and cripple me beyond repair. Funny enough though that person I was running from, would be the one to drop me off at the airport. Continue reading

The Seesaw – Part 1

Flatter me, and I may not believe you. Criticize me, and I may not like you. Ignore me, and I may not forgive you. Encourage me, and I will not forget you. Love me and I may be forced to love you.

– William Arthur Ward

The interaction between two different people is something which either works or doesn’t. The phrase you either got it or you don’t comes into play strong in this case. If you’re lucky enough to find that one person who you can be yourself with, fart, burp, complain and cry in front of, able to be your true self, then you my friend are a very lucky person. Not often does this happen, so you better put a ring on it. Sometimes we find it for some time and then it fizzles out and dies and others it stays as strong as the day it began. Continue reading

Lemons to Lemonade

When life hands you lemons, don’t be a cliché and make lemonade. Be an individual and cut a slice for your G&T, because Christ knows you deserve one.

For those of you who know me, you would know the month of March through to April of 2016 was defiantly not the month for Isaac. Being overseas and having my home broken into, ransacked and robbed, minis one iPad, money box and car keys. Leading to continual issues with my bank, setting Bendigo Banks highest number of individual complaints issued in one hit, 10 all up, that ones going to the pool room guys. The eventual robbery and grand theft auto of my car, poor Toby, on April 1st, fair to say that was a hard one to convince a few people its truth. All this while working, university and the break up of a relationship, how I am not in a mental asylum? I do not know! Continue reading
